The most anticipated trip to Cameron was finally here. First time travelling with friends so I am pretty excited.

We went there by car (bus rates are just too high and we could not afford). At least we don't have to hike up there. =D

On the way to our first destination, Boh Tea Plantation, Ju Dee had already started snapping pictures of herself. She just could not help it. Haha!

Scribbling something here to take a short break from work

Finally, one question from one assignment DONE!! Many more to go. I just hope I can just save my midnight oils for exam and I don't have to use it on my assignments.

It's been the third week now and lessons are getting more and more detailed. It's obvious because as you learn, you need to go deeper and deeper until you finally realized you are in a deep pit and you can never get out unless you have covered all the syllabus.

Last Wednesday, we had a closed food fair in college and we sold kebabs which didn't look like real kebabs and also cupcakes. I will upload the picture here soon since the camera is currently at i-don't-know-where-the-location-is. The sales was absolutely not good for the cupcakes. One lesson learnt here: Sell only food that has a minimum cost so that the profit can be maximised.

(I recalled Linear Programming and Econs as I said this. The nostalgic cell suddenly hit me. I miss Form Six so much right now.)

I think I will opt for a French menu for F & B assignment so I can put everything with the word 'french' in it like french fries, french toast, french bread and so on. Anyone knows about French wine? I know nuts about wines. It's time to learn, I guess.

Got to sleep now as I have to wake up early for a visit to McD tomorrow. Can't wait to try the Big Mac Chant! Give me a free drink too, will you, Mr. Ronald?

After Four Days

After four days of attending classes, I am starting to get used to it. To me, I thought it would be so different from Form Six but the difference is minimal. I am currently wearing casual wears to college. However, this will change when the uniform is done. There is no homework given daily by lecturers as we will be given assignments instead. So that is another difference. The lecturers uses mind maps to teach just like some of the teachers that I've had since my secondary years.

One assignment for Safety And Hygiene In Catering is received and I am still counting for more to come. I need to start working. Get some images and information. I've been locking my creativity away for such a long time and it's high time I let it out of the cage.

I've met some new friends which I initially thought would be a slow progress before I came to college. I feel comfortable to be around them and I hope they feel the same when I am among them. Don't worry. My good old friends will never be forgotten. The 5 Lilians, USA1 inhabitants and chums from other classes, remember to keep in touch (especially those who have gone beyond the state of Perak). If you are back, let me know. We can arrange something.

First Day Lessons

Lessons officially started today. We had induction yesterday so the classes yesterday will be replaced soon or so I heard. The subjects that I had today were Hospitality English 1 where we will learn some new hotel terms, Food And Beverage Service (I think I will love this subject best probably because I get to learn more about wines and some other drinks) and also Food Studies. Food Studies is mainly about cooking in the kitchen and there are a lot to learn from there too.

Currently still having the mood to study but I wonder when this studious spirit will last until. I hope it will last for a very long time. Let it expire only after 2012. =)

Some updates

Just a little update on what I am up to.

Class will start officially on the 12th but I was told that I need to go to the college on the 8th and 9th May. I have had a long break and now it's time to start a new beginning.

What will I get myself into? I will just have to wait and see. =D

I have been following Malaysian Dreamgirl (only the elimination episodes) quite closely and it had finally come to an end with Miss Tey Cindy being crowned as the first Malaysian Dreamgirl. I don't know about you but I think it is a poorly done copy of America's Next Top Model. Using the audience as judges is not wise at all for this kind of competition because even though a contestant's photoshoot is bad, if she has many fans, then she will never be out. Sounds stupid, huh? Yeah, I thought so.

I'd rather watch Gordon Ramsay screaming his lungs out to his aspiring cooks during service in Hell's Kitchen.

P/S: The weather last night was so horribly warm and I couldn't sleep in my room. So, I took my blanket and pillows and slept in the living room. My body feels like sticker in this kind of weather and I hate it.

Just came back from watching Congkak and I rate it 3.5/5. It is above average thanks to the marvelous sound effects which gives the scare more than the picture. If I were to watch this movie without the audio, I can assure you that all the pregnant ladies and little kids can watch. Not scary at all without the sound. Seriously. But it's still worth the money if you love Malaysian movies.

Horror movies are gaining popularity these days. I think people enjoy watching films from this genre because seeing ghosts is something they do not do very often. I love these horror flicks too. Especially Japanese-made horror movies. When you watch Japanese horror movies, remember this tip. Do not bother to understand the storyline and just enjoy the scare. Then only will you enjoy the show. Otherwise, you will end up being very confused if you try so hard to decipher the plot.

There's one Malaysian-made horror movie entitled Congkak. The trailer seems good.



Go watch it if you have the money and time and tell me what you think about this movie. I recommend it based on the trailer. So, if it isn't good, please do not claim your money from me. :-P

penang, here i come again!!

I must appreciate this month/time/moment/day that I have now because it's a period which does not come often. It's the idle period. I don't have to study nor work. Basically these are what I do not have to do for the past five months or so. In addition to that, I get to go to Penang this weekend to idle more at beach, clad in bikini.

Okay, I am joking about the bikini part.

I am pretty excited as this will be one of the times we go to beaches. Usually, we would just go rot in the room or did some window-shopping in Queensbay or Gurney Plaza.

I just hope I won't drown myself.

It's too bad Crystle cannot tag along. She would have so much fun swimming in the salty water.

the golden rule..

My joke on first April was quite lame and it was surprising that everyone fell for it. It's not so lame after all, is it? Sarah said I have not been updating like 'useless' duyun (quoted from Sarah). Duyun, if you are reading this, I didn't say you 'useless', okay? I am merely quoting. Hahaha...

I've recently acquired a book entitled, 'Mama's Rules for Livin'' written by Mamie McCullough and those 151 rules are really good. Some are funny while others are very inspirational and have definitely given me motivation to do the things that I want.

One rule which is also my favourite is:

Pain is inevitable - misery is a choice. Forgive.

People experience pain and often turn it into misery. Wouldn't that make pain more painful than it is? Misery is something that you choose to invite into your life. When someone has hurt you in any way at all like breaking your heart, the pain that you feel is inevitable and you might cry soon after. However, when you prolong the pain, it becomes misery which is something more painful than the pain you had already experienced.

The best way to prevent misery in life would be to forgive the person who has hurt you. It might not be an easy task, but it is definitely the best solution to make yourself feel so much better. Hatred will only cause more pain. Thus, misery will come when that hatred becomes more intense.

Love is such a good feeling because it is something humans grow with. To be able to forgive, you need to love. So, learn to love and not to hate, my friends.

And I am still learning too.

Update: My college life will commence on the 12th May! Another month or so to enjoy. Yay!

It was Good Friday yesterday and I loved the performances and the message. During the start of the service, everyone was given a red ribbon with some words printed on the strip. It said, 'My sins - His forgiveness'. I felt so touched. He loves me the way none others could. I tucked the ribbon safely in my IC and licence card holder before the pastor told us that we were supposed to use it later to respond.

I thought I could keep it. When the pastor explained that we were to nail the ribbon strip onto a cross, I knew this was something that I could do to tell Jesus that I am grateful for what He had done for me to cleanse me from my sins.

Tomorrow will be Easter. It's not the day when bunnies and Easter eggs are the heroes but Jesus is. So remember, Easter is to remind us about the victory of Jesus over death and not these commercialised goods just like Santa during Christmas. It's all about Jesus.

I just got crazy singing this senseless song. Actually 'Still Alive' is the credit song for a video game called Portal.

(Especially the part of the lyrics describing about a cake which is delicious and moist! That cracks me up the most! LOL!)

I want to play this game. It looks so weird and funny yet interesting. =D

make a choice, everyone??

As people grow older, things get more interesting yet confusing. I missed my childhood because life was so much simpler and less complicated.

When I was young, maybe four or five years old, it was easy to make choices of whether you want to play or sleep. Either choice I make would be harmless. If I chose to sleep, my mom would be happy because I would not be making so much noise. If I chose to play, I did not need to worry about neglecting my studies because there were no 'books' being introduced to little people during that era which was the early 90's. However, the scenario is so much different today. A child is introduced to books as early as two years old! No wonder the world today is such a tough place to live in.

I remembered my first year in kindergarten when I was six. I knew I was afraid of the new things that I had to learn. I suddenly realised that life was not revolved around my family and home. There is a place called SCHOOL where everyone needs to go. That time, I hated school. I tried to learn, but sometimes people could be a tad selfish. The people there made me hated school more. In fact, I chose to hate school.

(Of course that hatred never lasted long.)

Now I noticed that it was such a trivial thing to experience meeting selfish people who were not willing to share back then.

Fast forward to my secondary years, I grew to love books more and more and in that course of journey, again, I need to make choices.

What should I do when I grow up?

Should I go for a movie when there is an exam tomorrow?

Should I tell her that it's not the right thing to do?

And a lot more other questions which forced me to make a decision.

I think I should. Maybe I should not.

In the end, I did make the right choice. However, it did not always go the way I wanted.

Today, the choices that I make cannot be taken lightly. I know if I do make the the wrong choice, it is most unlikely that I will be able to turn back. If you made a mistake in your decision when you were six, you always have your parents to patch things up for you. But when you are twenty, it's time for you to clean up the mess that you made. You are responsible for your own act.

Sounds horrifying? The truth is not always as sweet as candy. Quoted from a friend, "Make not the right decision but make the decision right."

And that is what I am going to do right now.

P/S: Thank you so much for your opinion, uncle. But I want to pursue my dream. I will not mess it up as you think I would.

the beginning of my life after this..

There is nothing for me to wait for since the result is out. It's not the time to continue my 'mushroom project' any longer because I don't need it. All I need to do now is to fill up forms and start photo-copying some documents for scholarship application purposes.

My very first semester in college will start next month. A place where I need to wear a uniform. I love uniform. I feel smart wearing it even if I do not have a single idea of what is in store for me.

I guess I will post a lot about my college life next month. Don't get bored reading them okay? I will try to make them look interesting.

Twelve more hours to go and I do not know what I am expecting. I do not expect anything because I do not know what I expect to see on the result slip. Okay, this does not seem to make sense. My senses have been knocked out of me by some unknown force which I desperately try to pull myself away from.

To all my friends who are having marathon hearts right now, just believe in yourself and do not PANIC! Everything will be over after noon tomorrow. Over. Period.

my first 29th february post..

I was thinking about updating a few days later but since it's the 29th, a date which comes only four years once, I will write a post today whether I have inspiration or not.

I started this blog in October 2004, which was also a leap year but I already missed the 29th February in that year. So, this will be my first entry on this rare day. =D

One In A Million final will be aired tonight. Sadly, I have to watch the recorded version for the beginning of the show since I will be having the tutorial class tonight. I want Ayu to win! To me, celebrities who participate in reality talent shows are peoplw with thick skins. Stealing the limelight from the rookies when they already have their share of fame. What a disgrace to themselves!

It's not my business anyway to care about who has thick skins and who does not.

So that's all for today, I guess. =)

the true value of a pencil..

Although mechanical pencils are invented many years ago, some things just do not change.

Kids nowadays are supposed to be tech-savvy but there are just some that still cling onto the old tradition. For example:


Using a pencil till it's that short.

It's remarkable, isn't it? I don't think I can use a pencil until it's that length. I remember throwing pencils away when they were still quite long, probably double that length.


I feel even more ashamed when I look at this one.

If I were to be that particular pencil, I would be very proud. My task to stain the paper/change thoughts into written form is well achieved.


I can hold the pencil in no other way.

village of the damned..

This is one of my favourite horror flicks which I remembered watching many, many years ago. I actually wanted to watch it again a few years back but I just couldn't remember the title. All I remember was, there were several children who had psychic powers to control humans using their eyes.

Until two days ago, I saw the movie on Cinemax. The title was Village Of The Damned and not The Eyes. I thought the title had something to do with the eyes. See how poor my memory is?

two worlds apart..

Once upon a time, there lived a prince high up behind thick walls. He was somewhat beautiful and precious to his royal family. However, he was never happy. How can anyone be happy living trapped all his life? Mr. Prince longed for his true love to set him free.

'I'm not Rapunzel. Why am I locked up the same way?'

Days became weeks and weeks became months. His true love never came. But fate is a funny thing.

After several years trapped in his lonely 'cell', the maid finally took him out to have a taste of Mother Nature. That was the very first time he felt joy in his heart. Then, he saw her. Right at the other end of the field, she stood there watching him silently. They ran towards each other but not for long, they were separated again. Mr. Prince thought he found his true love but why stop him right then? He thought he was happy being a free being. He thought that the happiness would stay when he met his true love.

'I'm so happy that I am no longer a prisoner! I am also a prince in love. What more can I ask?'

He was wrong though. So, so wrong. The next moment he knew, he was back in his 'cell'.

And you know who his true love is? Well, sort of.

She even drew a mole on her face to be more attractive since the eyebrow was not enough to unleash her outward beauty.

I forgot how long it has been since I've eaten a sausage bun which is so cute and tiny like this.

Just look how tiny it is. The sausage within is quartered and cut to the length of the bread.

Unlike the bread of the normal size, this mini sausage bun is way easier to eat. Firstly, you do not need to open your mouth too wide to bite the bread. You just need to pop it into your mouth and munch away!

Secondly, it contains less calories. This is a very good meal especially for girls who wish to go on diet. You see, smaller portion of bread means less carbohydrate. Less carbohydrate means less calories, no? =D


I've eaten one. TWO MORE TO GO!!

In future, I will choose mini buns over non-mini ones.

P/S: Everything is getting smaller. Phones, digital cameras, etc. But the idiot box is getting larger and larger.

happy BELATED v-day!

This is a belated entry of Valentine's Day which, of course, I celebrated happily. Not exactly V-day for me but it's Single Awareness Day a.k.a. S.A.D. that I really celebrated.

I am not sad as the acronym said. Being single is good for me. Yup, I feel very normal. Perfectly healthy. And happy. And I am not jealous whatsoever. I don't know why but V-day has no effect on me.

I still ate like normal, slept like any other day and did my favourite things as usual. And BOOM!

The clock struck twelve like any other day. Another Valentine's Day burnt together with the RMs most guys had to spend to keep their 'overly-pampered' other half happy for the rest of the day.

I might be a little late but it's still not to late to wish every person in the world who knows the meaning of love to have a Valentine year ahead. May you have LOVE all year round! Everyone needs love. Especially God's love.

P/S: I am not S.A.D. because I have the greatest Person to love me up above. =D

yee sang day..

Whenever there's a birthday, there'll be a birthday cake. What about Humanity Day or the day known widely as yan yat among the Chinese? We don't buy cakes to celebrate this special occasion.

This is what we had.


Yee Sang

The whole dish is made up of many, many ingredients like carrots, cucumbers, parsley leaves, jellyfish, sour plum sauce and some others that I don't know of. It's eaten RAW. That is why it's called 'sang' in Cantonese.

If the yee sang is supposed to be eaten after it's cooked, it'll then be call yee suk instead. 'suk' means cooked in English.

Angpao-collecting days will soon come to an end. I don't like it. If this is the way to earn easy money, I want it to last the whole year round.

Today is the 7th day of Chinese New Year which also means the birthday of every human being on earth according to the Chinese. So that also means I have 3 birthdays in a year: The Gregorian Birthday, The Lunar Birthday and the Seventh Day of the Lunar Year.

It'a so good to have birthdays right? However, I am only celebrating the Gregorian one as the date is fixed every year. There's once when I only have 2 birthdays a year because the Lunar and the Gregorian birthdays were on the same date.

Enough about my birthdays. Just want to wish everyone I know and don't know HAVE A HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

It's Humanity Day, so let's celebrate it!

I am getting fat.

This is true based on how much I eat daily.

I should have a lot to write about my CNY celebration and the surprising thing is, I don't seem to be able to write all out. Too much to write probably, or maybe, I just can't remember what to write anymore. Too much carbs and fats is not healthy for you. I am a living proof.

The 50th Grammy Awards has just ended. I don't know much about the Western musics as I did not keep myself up-to-date with the newest musics. I find them noisy. Maybe there's one or two that are nice, but everyone loves noisy songs than melodious ones.

I guess the world has changed, that's all.

My grandma just went back to KL this morning and I was so relieved. Totally good riddance. I do not hate her. It's just that she is pretty annoying. Nothing more. I think that's what grannies do. Blabbering non-stop about things we are uninterested in yet we must listen to escape from being labelled as 'rude'.

One good point though. She gave me a birthday present. I guess that's enough to stop me from increasing her bad points. =D

In the meantime, the angpao collection is still in progress slowly. I still have a lot of cookies at home.

The door is still open for guests.

Yesterday was quite a normal day visiting relatives and eating and collecting angpaos.

Just another seven hours or so and it'll be the first day of Chinese New Year.

The best part of tomorrow is, no more house chores!

Why so?

Because everyone has been working so hard doing last minute spring cleaning these few days. Imagine what a relief it will be without having to work tomorrow.

For me, CNY is not merely a celebration to earn more pocket money from married couples. It's more of a celebration to pay off all our efforts in spring-cleaning our home.

Plus, we get to eat more junkfood during this festive season like never before. Usually, you will have to buy junkfood on your own but during this time, people serve them to you! What a bliss it is!

However, there are two sides to everything. For CNY, there are plenty of good things.

But!

THERE'S ONE MAJOR PROBLEM. The earth mysteriously approached nearer to the sun to signify the Lunar Year. Especially this year. I can't stand the humid weather!

It's time to air-condition the whole house.

Next entry will be about the reunion lunch and dinner we had. I am proud to announce that I finally cook...

...after such a long time. :-P

cny invitation..

This is what I call an EMERGENCY MEAL. This afternoon, dad called home to tell us that he will not be able to come back on time to take us out for lunch. He asked us to go out on our own but I did not want to eat out so this is what my sis and I came up with.


Some instant noodles with mom's recipe to make it delicious + fried eggs + nuggets.

Everything is just a fry away!

It's a rather pitiful meal, right? Yeah, I know.

All of a sudden, we received so many/much CNY goods from friends. I don't think we will be able to finish them so I hereby invite all friends who know where I live to come and help me do a favour.

ALL FRIENDS ARE INVITED TO EAT AND DRINK AT MY PLACE DURING CNY. FOOD WILL BE BOUNTIFUL.

This is not a joke. I am sincere and serious about this invitation.

Seriously, this year is such a fantastic year and we are so blessed with so much food. All we bought is just some can drinks from Giant. You can see how much we actually saved, right?

Friends, you can come to my house at any date between 7 February to 21 February. But please call beforehand just in case I might be out. Then you will have to face Crystle's wrath. She hates strangers (strangers here means people she has not seen before). Even if you are a close friend, she would attempt to bite you and scare you away.

No fear! Just inform me before you come and I will guarantee you a secure entry into my humble home.

The eyebrow-tattoo is in the trend among dogs too! Since they don't have money to get a professional to help them with they eyebrow-less eyes, here is what they will do. Absolutely free-of-charge.


Now that I have eyebrow, I am satisfied. I feel more human.

Actually I don't know what Crystle did to her left 'eyebrow'. Why is there only one side done? Probably she has no mirrors to check on her brows or she has no money to do the right side.

One thing for sure, her newly grown eyebrow IS ABSOLUTELY NOT MY DOING. I am innocent.

Can you see that one of the spoons is out of shape? IT ACTUALLY MELTED when my bro used it! I've told him to use metal spoons which he finally did after this plastic spoon melted.

DON'T THEY REALISE HOW POISONOUS IT IS?

Never ever serve the customers with plastic cutlery if you are selling sizzling food. You will kill them one day!

Just because plastic spoons are cheaper, you still cannot do that!
