TVB 42ND ANNIVERSARY AWARDS 2009 - BEST ACTRESS (奬項: 最佳女主角) AND ACTOR (奬項: 最佳男主角) PHOTO

TVB 42nd Anniversary Awards 2009 (TVB Awards Presentation 2009 萬千星輝頒獎典禮) on December 4, 2009 at 8.30pm
Awesome day
Had been out of touch from the Internet for almost the whole day. I missed Facebook so much!
I was at Jusco from 10.18am to 6.30pm. I may as well stay there for the night. So why was I there so long? I had two main agendas today.
I watched the 11am New Moon with Patricia, Ju Dee and Rooney. Jacob is so handsome. I wonder how long it took him to get those biceps and muscles all over his body. Edward looked kind of weird in a sense, I don't know why. I suddenly realized that Carlisle is very handsome. And Jane (starred by Dakota Fanning) is pretty even with her red eyes. She has grown so much. The last time I saw her was in Uptown Girl which was so long ago.
Had lunch after the movie and I should have ordered one waffle but I calculated wrongly and ordered two instead. Ate till I felt a slight purging but the iced lemon tea helped to get rid of it. Talked a bit and then we went our separate ways at 3pm.
Met up with See Mun, Bee Khin and Yi Wei at K-Box for karaoke session. Once again, congratulations to See Mun and Bee Khin on your graduation! I am so jealous!! Haha...
Came home and now watching TVB's 42nd Anniversary Awards show. Will be listing the full result after the show. Wait for it!! It'll be in the next entry. Tata for now. =)

Two papers managed!
I was surprised I could wake up at the first ring of mom's call. Wow, didn't really expect that since I slept at almost one last night.
What a relief it was to finish another paper. Something went wrong this morning as our exam was supposed to start at 9.30am but in the end, we only started half an hour later. During the half hour, I sat there looking around, hoping for the paper to arrive to the exam room soon. It gave me some time to pray which is good. Praying before every paper gives me the peace and decreases the nervousness.
Room Division was not bad. The only hurdle left before my sweet, sweet holidays come is Management Accounting. Once again, I will surrender to God and will accept whatever result He's going to give me.
Will be watching New Moon with Patricia and Ju Dee on Friday. Bih Tong, are you free on that day?
COUNTDOWN TO YOUTH CAMP: 11 days to go!!!

First paper on the first day of December
First of all, I want to thank God for giving me such a smooth-sailing first paper and this makes tomorrow so much more bearable. The first paper always determines the stress level of students, don't you think so? I kind of look forward to the paper tomorrow to get it over and done with. For a few days after that, I can have my break before facing the final MA paper on Monday.
So here's the plan. Gonna watch New Moon with Patricia and Ju Dee (and Rooney too if he's free) on Thursday or Friday. Yay! I can't wait.
Bih Tong passed me the ticket for set lunch next Tuesday and this is how it looks like.
The theme for the day will be Angel and Devil, hence the design of the ticket.
The menu consists of:
Appetizer: Celestial Dreamer (Lychee Syrup wih Strawberry Cordial)
Soup: Heavenly Harpist with Devil Seed (Cheddar Barley Mushroom Soup with Black Sesame Sweet Bun)
Main Course:
1) Devil in Disguise (Pan Fried Chicken with Peanut Butter Sauce)
2) Precious Pianist (Baked Parmesan Fish Fillets)
Accompanied with Pilaf Rice and Mix Vegetables for any of the selection
Dessert: Marvelous Grace of Roll (Pittaya Roll)
Coffee or tea
Will update about this set lunch as soon as I had it. =D Stay tuned.

Taking a commercial break from F&B notes
This post is especially dedicated to ShinyStar.
Here's an update from me after one day of absence. Wow, I used to be absent from blog for weeks but now it's only one day and I feel like blogging right now. It's a great improvement! Currently running through my notes for F&B paper tomorrow. I get sleepy reading too much so I shall skip the ones that require common sense and crap during exam and only focus on the facts.
It's going to be 9.30 soon and I better get back to my notes. Will be away from keyboard till further notice. Don't miss me. Oh, but I miss you. =D

The Heart of Christmas
There are a few songs for the Christmas choir that have to be memorised and they are in CHINESE. I wish to say that I have successfully memorised all. I can only master one song so far and thus it became my favourite (just because it has easier lyrics compared to the others).
It's a beautiful song. Originally, the song is in English entitled The Heart of Christmas. Really 'you yi yi' (meaningful) song.
The Heart of Christmas
圣诞的意义
sheng dan de yi yi
The heart of Christmas, what hope it brings
圣诞的意义 带来希望
sheng dan de yi yi dai lai xi wang
The promise of redeeming love through Christ the infant King
救赎应许来自基督神宝贵的儿子
jiu shu ying xu lai zi ji du shen bao gui de er zi
So undeserving, yet I still find
虽然我不配 但我发现
sui ran wo bu pei dan wo fa xian
God's greatest gift can be mine
神将耶稣赐予我
shen jiang ye su ci yu wo
P.S. I am attracted to Samsung Corby! Might be getting it if I love the real thing. The visual one seems promising. It's so ironic because I never liked a touchscreen phone and now I am liking one. Never say you dislike something or you will end up liking it.

The goodness of evening primrose oil
Finally restocked the evening primrose oil (EPO) capsules after skipping for a few days. Guardian offers 2 bottles of Blackmores Evening Primrose Oil 1000 (containing 180 capsules each) and a smaller bottle (60 capsules) for the price of RM99. So cheap, right?
I never knew the benefits of EPO and didn't bother to find out about it until Joanna told me about it when I was telling her about the dreadful monthly cramps I usually had. After consuming for a few months now, I don't have problem with unbearable cramps. Of course, there are cramps but they are the kind that don't force me to stay in bed for half a day.
Let you see the beautiful flower from where the oil came from.
Benefits of evening primrose oil and its origins can be found here.
Food & Beverage Operations paper is on the first day of December, Rooms Division the following day and 4 days later, Management Accounting. After that, I am free! I can't wait for the merry holidays to come.

Soft drinks soften you
Now I have the mood to give some health tips. It's more of a way to stay healthy through the abstinence from hazardous drinks.
I have just received an e-mail about soft drinks. The most terrifying fact about drinking soft drinks. I am never going to touch Coke ever again. Well, I have stopped drinking Coke for quite some time but not to the extent of banning it from my food intake. But now, I WILL.
Some of you might think, how can soft drinks be harmful when they are designated for children? Other than being too fizzy, surely there's no harm in consuming soft drinks, right? Yes, a glass or two might not be enough for the effect to show but try drinking a litre or more. Some facts that are necessary for you to know about Coke, the king of soft drinks. It applies to other soft drinks as well but let Coke be the representative for now.
Fact 1: Coke has ethylene glycol as part of its ingredient. Ethylene glycol is a known slow poison in the caliber of arsenic. Can you see how powerful it is?
Fact 2: Coke contains phosphoric acid that causes the pH value of this 'remarkable' soft drink to be as low as 3.4. Drink some more and you will thin your stomach linings.
Fact 3: Teeth and bones can never be dissolved even if their buried in the ground for ten years or a thousand years. But this fact is busted with Coke. It only takes ten days to dissolve a tooth.
Fact 4: Drinking Coke after your meals will not only stress your digestive system but at the same time also diluting the enzymes useful for digesting food. Consequently, food is not digested but fermented. Fermented food in the body accumulates toxin in the body and various diseases will start looking for you.
Fact 5: 4 litres of Coke within an hour is lethal. Isn't this the most horrifying fact? Don't believe me? I advise you not to try it. I don't want to be responsible for any deaths.
A Coke a day keep the doctor nearby. Unless the doctor is really handsome then it's a different story. Drink more soft drinks and you can meet your doctor every day.
Avoid soft drinks whenever you can. Try mineral water in the theatres. They go along well with caramelized popcorns too.
Becoming westerners for one day
I went western today. Ate the same English cuisine at Keris Cafe in the afternoon and the appetizer and the dessert have improved in terms of appearance and taste respectively. The food today was prepared by a different group of students. It's Dixon's group. Nick was the manager for the day and Bih Tong was the server.
Too bad Ju Dee missed it because she was at the vet as Cashie's sick. Hope Cashie gets well soon. Tell her not to bite her leg till bleed again, okay?
Mixed fruit smoothies. Compare it with the last time. The coloured sugar is a better garnishing than the 'W' at the rim of the glass.
This is what's for dinner.
Fusili with tomato gravy. Gravy cooked by Wei See. Thanks, girl! It's delicious.
We ate till so full that we could not finish the fusili. There's still some leftover in the fridge. I wonder what we can do with it. Maybe whip out a pasta salad out of it?

Anticipating December while watching Mrs. World 2009
Revision week starts today. As usual, I haven't revised yet. But I still have to attend two more lessons for Accounts on Wednesday and Thursday. A few more days of holidays after that and then off to the exam room on Tuesday. 7 December marks the end of second semester. Four more to go.
Currently counting down to the excitement that awaits me next month after the exam. Youth camp at Harvest Haven, Genting trip right after that and Christmas!
I never knew there is such a pageant known as Mrs. World. The venue of this year's pageant is held in Vietnam. Mrs. Malaysia in the top twelve. I find her more beautiful than the Miss version. Go, go, go Mrs. Malaysia! However, she didn't manage to advance to the top 6. So who's the winner of Mrs. World 2009?
Viktoria Radochinskaya (Mrs. Russia) is the best married woman for this year! Gorgeous. Married for nine years with a son and finally the proudest woman to own the crown that is coveted by 74 other contestants.
If you are not eligible to join the beauty pageant for singles, do not fret. Just get married as soon as possible (you can even give birth to a child or two before that) and you are eligible to join this one.

The end days
I suddenly have this urge to share this passage and looking at the way everything is beginning to manifest in today's world, the time is near.
Daniel 12:1-13 (New International Version)
The End Times
1 "At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people—everyone whose name is found written in the book—will be delivered. 2 Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt. 3 Those who are wise [a] will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever. 4 But you, Daniel, close up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge."
5 Then I, Daniel, looked, and there before me stood two others, one on this bank of the river and one on the opposite bank. 6 One of them said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, "How long will it be before these astonishing things are fulfilled?"
7 The man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, lifted his right hand and his left hand toward heaven, and I heard him swear by him who lives forever, saying, "It will be for a time, times and half a time. [b] When the power of the holy people has been finally broken, all these things will be completed."
8 I heard, but I did not understand. So I asked, "My lord, what will the outcome of all this be?"
9 He replied, "Go your way, Daniel, because the words are closed up and sealed until the time of the end. 10 Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand.
11 "From the time that the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination that causes desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days. 12 Blessed is the one who waits for and reaches the end of the 1,335 days.
13 "As for you, go your way till the end. You will rest, and then at the end of the days you will rise to receive your allotted inheritance."
Footnotes:
Daniel 12:3 Or who impart wisdom
Daniel 12:7 Or a year, two years and half a year
I am not trying to imply that the movie 2012 is somewhat a prophesy that will come true because although we know the number of days that is left, we still do not know when the countdown to Judgment Day starts. It could have started, it could have not. 2012 is just a representative of the year of the end days that is still unknown.
I found another site that explains the abomination that causes desolation in this site. I strongly encourage you to read it.
Another verse:
2 Thessalonians 2:1-4 (New International Version)
The Man of Lawlessness
1 Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers, 2 not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by some prophecy, report or letter supposed to have come from us, saying that the day of the Lord has already come. 3 Don't let anyone deceive you in any way, for (that day will not come) until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness[a] is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. 4 He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God's temple, proclaiming himself to be God.
P.S. Choir practice was fun today. Now struggling to remember the lyrics of the Chinese lyrics. Time to get tongue-tied!
Mossy Land
Unexpectedly, the weather remained gloomy today (yesterday, to be accurate as it's past twelve) and I get my share of cool air once again. I want to thank God for giving me my favourite temperature outdoors and that made me enjoyed myself even more in Lumut. Well, not quite enjoyable as it was raining with raindrops so tiny in size that you could barely feel the rain. It's amazing to be able to feel wet but not feeling the raindrops on my skin.
Bought lots of satay fish (one BIG packet actually.. still a lot, right?) and dried sotong! I don't eat the brown sotong in their natural form when they are cooked in any way except when they are being dried and flavoured. They taste more delicious that way.
After the dried seafood shopping is done, we went to a shop called Cheng Ming (铖铭) near Econsave somewhere before entering the town of Sitiawan for lunch. The price was considered cheap as the portion of the sweet and sour fish, vege and brinjal fried with tofu were big. No pictures were snapped because I was hungry. We were filled with contentment, having digesting food that cost less than RM30 in our stomachs. That's what I call food bliss.
Lesson learnt at youth today: I do not have to show to others my identity of being a Christian by announcing it to the whole wide world. What is important is that I show the likeness of Christ in my words and deeds and people will be able to see the light of Jesus that shines from within me.

Pause
There is no winter storm in KL, sadly. I know I should be happy with the news because if it does occur, then there must be something wrong with the climate but I reckon it would be much colder that way. Who knows it might affect the weather in Ipoh to be less warm?
It's so cooling tonight that I don't want the night to end. Sorry, Patricia. I know you love the bright and sunny weather but I am the total opposite. LOL. I feel sluggish when the weather is warm. When the sun rises tomorrow, it's going to get warm again. Can I pause this moment when I feel most comfortable?
P.S. I am going to Lumut tomorrow for a short day trip! I miss drinking the barley-in-beer-bottle there and the dried sotong and the satay fish!!♥
A Christmas Carol
A Christmas Carol is indeed a good movie with precious moral values to be learnt.
It's a movie adapted from the novel of the same title by Charles Dickens which depicts the story of a nasty old man named Ebenezer Scrooge who hates Christmas until one night, the ghost of his fellow partner, Mr. Jacob Marley pays a visit to warn him about his soon-to-be encounter with three Christmas spirits; Past, Present and Future.
Each spirit teaches him valuable lessons about relationships, compassion and also the need of understanding other people. As Scrooge travels through time from the past to the future, he begins to realize that his attitude towards Christmas must change in order to live happily with those around him.
Bah, humbug! Look at his surprised expression when Marley paid him a visit on Christmas eve.
I think most people who appreciates literature like Oliver Twist and other works of Charles Dickens have familiarized themselves with the story of Christmas Carol and might have even watched the various versions of the movies too. There's one that I remembered. The title of the movie is The Ghosts of Christmas Eve (if I am not mistaken because it has been a long time ago) and the story is inspired from the novel although it has a different storyline. The characters of the Christmas spirits remain but the name of the main cast is changed although he portrays the characteristics of Scrooge.
Go watch it if you haven't. The animation is so fantastic that the people look real.

God's peace within me
Woke up early this morning and it's amazing that I could stand not sleeping in the afternoon when I came back from classes. I could not believe it myself.
The visit to the Golf Club was cancelled because the management rejected our application with the reason they were afraid that the golf balls would hit the students. Can they give any lousier excuse than this? This should be listed in the Book of Funniest Excuses Ever, or the BOFEE book for short.
(If there is no such book, it's time I start hunting for more funny answers and compile them into one. It might become a bestseller.)
Next event for Hosteurs Club: Teluk Batik day trip. Never been there before and I am sort of looking forward to it. My schedule is so packed for the month of December.
Now resume watching TVB 42nd anniversary programme LIVE on Wah Lai Toi. So happy that they have decided to let us watch for free instead of airing it over Astro On Demand channels. :D :D :D
Gonna watch A Christmas Carol tomorrow morning! Hope we could get good seats which we most probably could since we will be early birds!
P.S. What a relaxing semester this is. I haven't started revising. I should be worried but I am not. The Lord is good all the time. His peace is everlasting and dwells in everyone who trusts in Him.

2012 The Movie at your nearest cinemas in town
This movie is one of the few movies that I want to watch. You can say it's in my wish list of movies along with New Moon and A Christmas Carol.
I have no idea about the summary for now because I have not watched it yet so I just copied everything from Wikipedia. This is what doing assignments taught me. I learn to copy and paste so professionally.
Note to all: I did not copy and paste for my assignment, okay? I just copied, modified and pasted! There! That's different from Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V. I did use my brain to rephrase the sentences. That was hard work. *pat myself*
You have been warned.

Woody Harrelson as Charlie Frost, a conspiracy theorist disguised as Yellowstone hermit who prophesies the end of the world and is considered crazy by others. Harrelson compared his character to the mythological Greek figure Cassandra, whose predictions were dismissed
Synopsis:
In 2009, American geologist Adrian Helmsley travels to India to meet his friend Satnam, who has discovered that neutrinos from a massive solar flare are acting as microwaves and causing the temperature of the Earth's core to increase rapidly. Adrian informs White House Chief of Staff Carl Anheuser and US President Thomas Wilson that this will instigate a chain of events that will bring about the end of the world. At the G8 summit in 2010, other heads of state and heads of government are made aware of the situation. They collaborate to begin a secret project intended to ensure the continuity of human life, strategically choosing 400,000 people for admission on a series of gigantic arks to be constructed in the Himalayas. To help fund the venture, additional individuals are allowed to purchase tickets for one billion euros apiece.
In 2012, Jackson Curtis is a writer in Los Angeles who works part time as a limousine driver for Russian billionaire Yuri Karpov. Jackson's ex-wife Kate and their children Noah and Lily live with her new boyfriend, plastic surgeon and amateur pilot Gordon Silberman. Jackson takes Noah and Lily on a camping trip to Yellowstone National Park, where they meet Charlie Frost, a conspiracy theorist living as a hermit and hosting his own radio show from the park. Charlie supports a theory that suggests the Mayans predicted the world would come to an end in 2012, and claims he has knowledge of the ark project and possesses a map of the arks' location. The family returns home as cracks begin to develop along the San Andreas Fault in California and earthquakes occur in the San Francisco Bay area. Jackson grows suspicious and rents a private plane to rescue his family. He collects his family and Gordon when the Earth's crust displacement begins and they escape Los Angeles as it collapses into the Pacific Ocean.
As millions begin dying in apocalyptic earthquakes worldwide, the group flies to Yellowstone to retrieve Charlie's map. The group narrowly escapes as the Yellowstone Caldera erupts. Charlie, who stayed behind to make a live broadcast of the eruption, is killed by the blast. Realizing the arks are in China, the group lands in Las Vegas, where they meet Yuri, his twin sons, girlfriend Tamara, and pilot Sasha. They join the group and secure an Antonov An-225 to head across the Pacific. Also bound for the arks aboard Air Force One are Anheuser, Adrian, and First Daughter Laura Wilson. President Wilson chose to remain in Washington D.C., and is soon killed by a tsunami that sends the USS John F. Kennedy crashing into the White House. With the Vice President dead and the Speaker of the House missing, Anheuser appoints himself acting Commander-in-Chief.
Upon arriving in China in a crash-landing that kills Sasha, Yuri and his two sons are taken to the arks, stranding the Curtis family, Gordon, and Tamara, all of whom do not possess tickets. However, the abandoned group is picked up by Nima, a Buddhist monk. Together, they begin sneaking onto an ark through its hydraulics chamber with the help of Nima's brother Tenzin, a welder for the ark project. In his last moments, Satnam calls Adrian to inform him that a tsunami is engulfing India and heading towards the arks. Learning of this, Anheuser orders the arks be sealed, trapping thousands outside. Adrian manages to convince the other G8 leaders to let the remaining people on board. As the ark's tailgate is lowered and raised, Yuri falls to his death getting his two sons on in time, and both Gordon and a large electrical power drill fall in between the gears. Gordon is killed, and the lodged drill prevents the gate from closing, rendering the ship unable to start its engines. The tsunami arrives and begins to flood the ark, drowning Tamara and setting the ark helplessly adrift. Jackson and Noah work together to free the drill and its cable from the closing mechanism. The gate closes and the crew regains control of the ark, preventing a fatal collision with Mount Everest.
When the floodwater from the worldwide tsunamis eventually recedes, satellite data shows that Africa rose in relation to sea level, and its Drakensberg mountains are now the highest on the planet. As three arks set sail for the Cape of Good Hope, Jackson reconciles with his family, and Adrian starts a relationship with Laura. The movie ends with a view of the Earth revealing the African continent as the only major landmass left above water.

Pink is the new Green (I ♥ green too!)
After 3 years or so of using the same layout, I finally decided to change it. Many thanks to my mom who encouraged me to do so and even chose the template for me. I love it very much!! Thank you, arigato, nandri, xie xie, doh jeh, terima kasih, kamsamida and other thank yous in all other languages in the world! You deserve all the credits aside from the designer of this template.
It's ironic because I love green since I was young but my blog turns out to be pink. Never had my blog been in any shades of green before. If only I had kept the screen shots of my previous blog templates. I guess my subconscious mind loves pink so I can't help it. Oh, and I love the fact that all my posts will be justified-aligned so they will look neat.
Slept at 2am last night because of the template with all the adjustments for colours, linkings of friends' blogs, adverts and also the font types for every part of the blog: header, post title, footer and so on. I did so much that I even dreamt about it. Oh, and I also dreamt about one of the questions that would be coming out for sure in Management Accounting paper. Income statement and balance sheet question is confirmed coming out. I don't think I need to tell since everyone already knew. Pointless dream, really.
The hours I spent are all worth it. Welcome to my new-skinned blog! Share with me what you think of it by leaving a comment. I will greatly appreciate it. :oD

Going Italian
I had another set lunch today at Keris Cafe. This time, we were served Italian cuisine. The menu was the same as the last time - earlier this year (sadly, I did not blog about it). Compared to the last time, the food tasted better this time. Why? Probably I was being biased because my friends were the cooks. :P
Appetizer: Lemoncello
Delicious. A thirst-quenching drink. I wonder why their appetizers are always liquid?
Bread and butter. The usuals.
Soup: Minestrone
Too watery but still edible.
Main: Chicken lasagne
Burger-like lasagne with stir-fried long beans and potatoes as side dishes.
Dessert: Meringue nest with fruits
I don't understand why the dessert pictures that I snap were always blur. The strawberry truffle picture that I snapped before this was blur as well. Sigh.
I was too lazy to compile a picture of all the food today so I should end it here.
Later today.....
There was fogging in my area and Crystle was allowed into the house for a while. Actually, quite a while. The fogging lasted for almost half an hour. I think the dengue fever rate is getting really high that they have to spray so many rounds. Scary.
Crystle was bullied!!! Karate-kicked by Eunice. Hehehe...

Sayonara, assignments!
I am free from your evil clutches now. Hahaha!!!
Two weeks more before the semester officially ends. Handed in the group assignments today and it was such a relief. When I thought about the way we rushed through the printing and binding, it's like nightmare! I don't have a choice but to go through the same cycle the following sem. For the time being, I shall take a deep breath to recharge the brain by filling it with oxygen that has been low in supply during the assignment period - it's also known as the darkest period in my life.
Looking forward to Italian cuisine next Tuesday! I have tried this menu before but this time Bih Tong and Nick will be cooking so I want to be supportive. See, I am such a good friend. Make sure both of you cook exceptionally delicious, okay??
Back to facebook. It's highly addictive. Why oh why??

Hard Rock Hotel
Back from the land of good food. Went for a movie session at GSC Queensbay Mall (the cinema there looks so much better in design) - Time Traveler's Wife. Quite a good movie. :o)
Oh yeah, made a visit to the Hard Rock Hotel too. It's super expensive even at promotion rate. RM300++ per room. For rooms facing the pool, RM600++. I can only afford to snap pictures to freeze the moment I was there.
How much would it cost if it broke, I wonder.
Largest swimming pool in all of Penang
Can you spot MJ?
Immortailized in stone
Black or white? He prefers white. =)
Gonna go to Kalai's later for lunch! I can never get tired of banana leaf rice. Gaining KGs every day. I totally deserve it for being a glutton.

English Cuisine at Keris Cafe
I had the most awesome lunch today. It's not to say it's the best food I have ever had but it's the best because firstly, my friends (Nick and Bih Tong) were the chefs who prepared the food + Dixon who was the server of the day and secondly, the meal only cost RM8!
Wah, crazy ah... what kind of meal so expensive??
I know some of you might think I am cuckoo but let me explain. First, let me introduce the Street View from where we (Rooney, Patricia and I) sat.
Can see the Keris' Travel and Tour signboard so clearly. Nice view right? This already gives you a hint of where the cafe with the RM8 meal was.
Let's zoom in nearer.
The table setting for the day. Not exactly silverware but who cares about the material of which the cutlery is made of when the food tasted fabulous? Stainless steel is enough to aid the food into our mouth and then to our hungry stomachs.
First up on the menu: Mixed Fruit Smoothies
Comprised of honey dew, apples and some other fruits I could not identify. Maybe there were only two types of fruits but it is definitely thirst-quenching.
The butter for the bread
Hot bun to appease our hunger while waiting for the courses to be served. I loved it.
Soup of the day: Cream of potatoes soup with sweet bread
I didn't know the bread was meant to be for the soup so I finished up the bread prior to the arrival of the soup. I should have read the menu properly to eat properly. But the soup tasted great without the bread. At this point, I was beginning to feel full.
Very much awaited main course since last week when I got to know about the set lunch: (Remember to take a deep breath and say the name of the course with me coz it's one heck of a long one)
Roasted herb glazed chicken served with creamy brown sauce accompanied with fries and green peas
I give 5-star rating for this one. I dare say this is better than Kenny Rogers. So what is the secret of roasting such a delicious chicken? Nick told me they used honey. Brush the honey all over the chicken before sending them into the oven, I think.
Last course before we headed back to college for lecture: Strawberry Triffle
I took a scoop of the top layer of the cream and found it tasteless. The idea is to mix the content until all you can see was something that looks yucky but became more and more flavourful. I am not a great fan of desserts so I did not quite like it. But I did finish it.
Tea to cleanse the palate after the meal. Feeling contented.
The pictures are of inferior quality but I still want to compile them as a gratitude to Nick, Bih Tong and also Dixon for inviting us over to try their English cuisine. Well done to the both of you. I know there were glitches between the service and kitchen section but nobody is perfect. At least everyone was served and they left the cafe with a smiling face (I don't know about the rest but I definitely left happy). ♥♥♥
Kenny Rogers needs to be afraid right now. Wahahaahahaha!!!

It's November already!
I have always loved banana leaf rice! Okay, at the mention of it, I am hungry right now. Headed to Kalai's Curry House last Thursday for a meal during break time.
Clockwise from bottom left: Chicken Varuver (spelling unknown but I heard the Indian guy pronounce it that way), papadum, mango lassi, vege one, vege two (the most delicious among the three kinds of vege), vege three and rice with fish curry gravy.
The total of RMs sacrificed for this meal:RM9.50. I feel it's worth the price!
I was browsing through the pictures in my phone and I saw this picture of me putting on hair extensions at the hairdresser's. I think I can qualify to be the model for the DVD cover of The Wig 2.
I wonder which girl's hair that was. It's a little creepy to mix your hair with another unknown girl's hair and this keeps me thinking why would people pay to do that.
I just need to write the conclusion and I am done with assignments Yay!!! See you again next semester. I will not miss you.
I can't believe it's November already.

More trees killed
Been gone for about a week because I was online almost all the time yet do not feel like typing anything. Hence, the lack of updates. Deepavali break comes to an end too soon. Sigh. I wanted to eat more curries but did not have the chance to 'accidentally stumble' upon any Hindu friends' houses. I only went to one and only house on the second day of Deepavali (last Monday) and there, I met with two lovely doggies.
Meet Spotty and Baby.
This is Baby. She is so fat and makes a fine pillow. She sleeps and eats most of the time.
When I first wanted to touch her, she was very cautious and attempted to bite me (for real or not, I am still not sure). Luckily my reflex was fast enough.
He is Spotty. Compared to Baby, he has less spots. His head looks very different from his body, you know, like they are not suppose to belong to each other. He enjoys having his ears being pulled to a certain extent. He treats Baby like his own sister because he does not hump on her. Or it might be the fact that Spotty finds Baby too fat.
He was friendlier and easier to approach during our first meeting.
So that was the highlight of Monday. For the rest of the week, I watched movies and do the daily stuffs. So boring yet so interesting.
All individual assignments have been handed up! Now it's time to kill the group one. Let's mourn for the dead trees as I will be using more and more papers to prevent from failing practically every semester. Why they make assignments so important for gradings, I have no idea.
Can someone please enlighten them about Mother Nature??

Assam Fish Curry and Chicken Soup. Yum yum♥
Lack of inspiration for update, hence, the pictures of the dinner that I cooked last night.
Assam fish curry
It was supposed to be more sour but turns out to be sweet. I think the overflowing amount of ingredients caused it. It's still scrumptious!!
Chicken soup. Makes you crave for another bowl. =)
Break is ending pretty soon. Back to college. Sigh.

Loneliness can be awesome
My mind is so cluttered with many things right now so this shall be a post typed non-chronologically.
I have always loved being home alone. I don't know. Maybe I just want to have the house to myself once in a while. Have fun in Singapore for the two missing people at home and remember to buy souvenirs. To mom, I miss you already. I can't wait for November 7 to come by. Till we meet again in reality. Time being, we are only going to meet in words online and offline - sms/call. I wish I have 3G function in my phone now. Maybe it's time to get a new phone *hinting dad to give me money to buy new phone* =P
This morning when I was at the bus station, I saw Pastor Don and Angelina waiting for their bus to KL. It's so unusual to see them wearing so casual. Too used to seeing them wearing formal in church that I have never imagined them wearing casuals.
The accident on Thursday made me have the desire to turn back time and started thinking of all the what-ifs. What if I had let her reverse first before I did? What if I stayed behind in college just for another minute or so? What if I didn't drive at all that day? It's all useless because I cannot change the fact that it had happened.
Lastly,
Sorry for the late wishing. Please invite me to your open house if you see this post. Haha!! =)
