The Land of Strawberries

June 3, 2008

The most anticipated trip to Cameron was finally here. First time travelling with friends so I am pretty excited.

We went there by car (bus rates are just too high and we could not afford). At least we don't have to hike up there. =D

On the way to our first destination, Boh Tea Plantation, Ju Dee had already started snapping pictures of herself. She just could not help it. Haha!

Say 'Jupeter'!!

The breath-taking scenery from the top of the hill. Looks a little bit like Sunway Lagoon, right?

Old rolling table for tea manufacture

Some steel door which I don't recall the purpose of it

Gunny-sack to collect tea leaves in the olden days

I wonder what is Christina looking at? Some gorgeous guys?

As we enter the factory, we were welcomed by the stench of tea leaves/fertilizers (I know not which). Below are some machineries I have not seen before.

Ju Dee and Bih Tong had suddenly become the mannequin for the signboard. Freeze!

Welcome to Boh Tea Plantation!

Then we went into a shop which sells lots and lots of tea.

Kevin and Nick acting as promoters for teas.

Then they turned into mannequins too! First up is Kevin, seen sipping from an empty teacup.

Then, Nick followed suit.

The tea is super delicious! Thumbs up!

Before we left, Ju Dee wanted more shots of herself with Bih Tong

This scenery reminds me of Teletubbies!

Bih Tong has a peace-antenna! The fifth Teletubby?

We have GPS system in the car. So cool, right?

Finally we reached our apartment in Brinchang. Don't ask me the name of the apartment. I never bother to even look. Haha...

The balcony. Not a very pretty sight I should say.

Ju Dee and Patricia lounging in the living room

Our room. Can you see anything under the bed? I hope not.

After taking some rest and some games of cards and Unos, we headed to the Cactus Valley. The admission fee is RM4. That's why I took lots of pictures.

Mini grapes that are not grapes at all

What a paradise! Don't fall on the cacti or you will have thorns sticking out of your bodies! Bih Tong will become Bih Thorn and Ju Dee will turn into Ju Dorn. LOL..!

I've never seen so many

I have nothing to say.

Face-sized hibiscus

A different colour

Miss Nurainie slid this hibiscus onto my hair. Pretty or not?

I want my miniature hibiscus to reach this size!

Roses of many colours.

This rose looks like a star.

Miss' daughter, Karina/Carina. Not sure of the spelling though. :P

Especially dedicated to Duyun. You can be jealous of me now.

Tea time! Strawbery with yoghurt + honey. Simply delicious.

Patricia's strawberry sundae

Ju Dee's strawberry waffles with ice-cream

Miss having the time of her life

Some wicked strawberry fairy had turned me into a strawberry. And I am loving it!

On the way back to the apartment.

Crazy people. Wakakaka!!

After bath (can't wait for the steamboat dinner!)

There are no steamboat pictures here. Will be hunting for them and to be uploaded in the next post. =)

Let's fast forward to the event after dinner, all right?

We had some story-telling time and it was fun listening to bizarre occurences and mysteries.

Rooney paying close attention

Nick was sharing some supernatural stories. My hair looked like the ones you see female ghosts have in movies. And I thought Karina was playing games with my phone. She was busy snapping pictures.

Ju Dee got frightened by the stories so she took some more pictures of herself to get rid of her fear.

One is not enough. Another one.

Kailash a.k.a. kailan is drunk

This is the result of two sips of beer. LOL!

Looks sober but he was really drunk.

June 4, 2008

Checked out and headed to the Strawberry Farm where some of them went to pluck some strawberries to be taken home.

Sayonara, Cameron!

My phone has been infected by Ju Dee. So many of her pictures in this entry. =D

Food pictures

So sorry for the delayed posting of the cupcakes. Couldn't find the camera so just look at the hp quality one only, ya?

All the four cupcakes are chocolate- flavoured. My favourite!

Clockwise from top: Cheese cream with a heart topping, Cheese cream plus cocoa powder (Miss Nurainie was doubtful whether this would turn out nice but it did!), butter cream plus blueberry in the middle and last but not least, cappucino and cocoa powder sprinkled on top.

Anyone craving for salads? Here are some pictures to tempt you and make you drool. We made two kinds of salad during yesterday's practical - Mayonaise and Vinaigrette.

Vinaigrette dressing

Another shot for you because I love the colours. I don't like the taste though. Too sour for me. =P

Miss at work!

I hope Miss Nurainie doesn't read my blog. She might kill me if she sees this picture. LOL!

Mayonaise dressing

I love this one! Egg + mayonaise is the perfect combination!

After decorating it with oranges we segmented last week.

Went to the ice-cream parlour for some ice-cream. More pictures!

This is what they call Double Chocolate Fudge. Simply delicious!

I keep on saying that everything is delicious. Well, I can't help it. Just being truthful. Hehe..

Some chocolate cakes with vanilla ice-cream in the middle coated with chocolate sauce.

I forgot what the name is. I only remember it's peachy.

I am beginning to feel the cramps after badminton this afternoon. Will be going for a swim tomorrow morning. Maybe I won't be swimming. I might tear my muscles into pieces.

Scribbling something here to take a short break from work

Finally, one question from one assignment DONE!! Many more to go. I just hope I can just save my midnight oils for exam and I don't have to use it on my assignments.

It's been the third week now and lessons are getting more and more detailed. It's obvious because as you learn, you need to go deeper and deeper until you finally realized you are in a deep pit and you can never get out unless you have covered all the syllabus.

Last Wednesday, we had a closed food fair in college and we sold kebabs which didn't look like real kebabs and also cupcakes. I will upload the picture here soon since the camera is currently at i-don't-know-where-the-location-is. The sales was absolutely not good for the cupcakes. One lesson learnt here: Sell only food that has a minimum cost so that the profit can be maximised.

(I recalled Linear Programming and Econs as I said this. The nostalgic cell suddenly hit me. I miss Form Six so much right now.)

I think I will opt for a French menu for F & B assignment so I can put everything with the word 'french' in it like french fries, french toast, french bread and so on. Anyone knows about French wine? I know nuts about wines. It's time to learn, I guess.

Got to sleep now as I have to wake up early for a visit to McD tomorrow. Can't wait to try the Big Mac Chant! Give me a free drink too, will you, Mr. Ronald?

P/S: I was once again tagged. Another one about listing things. My ultimate weakness. :-P

After Four Days

After four days of attending classes, I am starting to get used to it. To me, I thought it would be so different from Form Six but the difference is minimal. I am currently wearing casual wears to college. However, this will change when the uniform is done. There is no homework given daily by lecturers as we will be given assignments instead. So that is another difference. The lecturers uses mind maps to teach just like some of the teachers that I've had since my secondary years.

One assignment for Safety And Hygiene In Catering is received and I am still counting for more to come. I need to start working. Get some images and information. I've been locking my creativity away for such a long time and it's high time I let it out of the cage.

I've met some new friends which I initially thought would be a slow progress before I came to college. I feel comfortable to be around them and I hope they feel the same when I am among them. Don't worry. My good old friends will never be forgotten. The 5 Lilians, USA1 inhabitants and chums from other classes, remember to keep in touch (especially those who have gone beyond the state of Perak). If you are back, let me know. We can arrange something.

P/S: I've been tagged by Caryn but I am bad at listing things down. Might do it when I learn about listing things. =D

First Day Lessons

Lessons officially started today. We had induction yesterday so the classes yesterday will be replaced soon or so I heard. The subjects that I had today were Hospitality English 1 where we will learn some new hotel terms, Food And Beverage Service (I think I will love this subject best probably because I get to learn more about wines and some other drinks) and also Food Studies. Food Studies is mainly about cooking in the kitchen and there are a lot to learn from there too.

Currently still having the mood to study but I wonder when this studious spirit will last until. I hope it will last for a very long time. Let it expire only after 2012. =)

Some updates

Just a little update on what I am up to.

Class will start officially on the 12th but I was told that I need to go to the college on the 8th and 9th May. I have had a long break and now it's time to start a new beginning.

What will I get myself into? I will just have to wait and see. =D

I have been following Malaysian Dreamgirl (only the elimination episodes) quite closely and it had finally come to an end with Miss Tey Cindy being crowned as the first Malaysian Dreamgirl. I don't know about you but I think it is a poorly done copy of America's Next Top Model. Using the audience as judges is not wise at all for this kind of competition because even though a contestant's photoshoot is bad, if she has many fans, then she will never be out. Sounds stupid, huh? Yeah, I thought so.

I'd rather watch Gordon Ramsay screaming his lungs out to his aspiring cooks during service in Hell's Kitchen.

Happy belated Labour Day, everyone!

P/S: The weather last night was so horribly warm and I couldn't sleep in my room. So, I took my blanket and pillows and slept in the living room. My body feels like sticker in this kind of weather and I hate it.

palindromes..

Turn on your audio as you read the words. Palindromes are really wonderful.

When I saw this video, I come to realise that it's true that the world is fast changing into an era of destruction. Reading the lines backwards doesn't change the reality. We need to work together to conserve nature and turn this world into a better place before we go to the best place that God has promised us.

nothing is illogical!

Out of so many, I find this the most interesting, Daph. We might look at some things and say, "No, it's impossible!" However, logic can deceive us sometimes.

Look at this one for example. How is 2=1 made possible? I did thought it was impossible but there's a way to make it logical.

And I thought you need logic to do math. Now nobody is weak in mathematics! =)

P/S: L is so, so charming.

written on a gloomy day..

Just came back from watching Congkak and I rate it 3.5/5. It is above average thanks to the marvelous sound effects which gives the scare more than the picture. If I were to watch this movie without the audio, I can assure you that all the pregnant ladies and little kids can watch. Not scary at all without the sound. Seriously. But it's still worth the money if you love Malaysian movies.

I was tagged by Daph yesterday and this is my first time spending/wasting some of my minutes doing this survey. So here it is. =)

1. What's your favorite anime at the present time?
I stopped watching them a few months ago but my favourite is still Fushigi Yuugi.

2. Given the chance, what special ability/power would you like to have?
The ability to read people's mind so that no one can lie to me. =)

3. How do you think about yourself?
I am someone who does not know how to describe myself so this question should be reserved to my friends who know me better than I do. :P

4. Where is the place that you want to go the most?
Anywhere with snow! Japan, Alaska, Greenland, you name it!

5. If you can have 1 dream to come true, what would it be?
I would like to get my proper sleeping pattern back. It has gone berserk for the past few months. Haha.

6.Do you have a crush now?
If I have one, should I really tell you?

7. What are you afraid to lose the most now?
At any time at all, my family.

8. If you win $1 million, what would you do?
Keep half in the bank, the other half to spend on whatever I want.

9. If you meet someone that you love, would you confess to him/her?
Probably not. Well, giving some hints would be better, I think. ;P

10. List out 3 good points of the person who tagged you.
She is pretty, classy and fun to talk to.

11. Which type of person do you hate the most?
People who are inconsiderate and think only for themselves.

12. What is your ambition?
To be a good person with a job which I enjoy would be nice enough.

13. If you have fault, would you rather the people around you point out to you or would you rather they keep quiet?
If I have the ability to read minds, they can just keep quiet. Now that I do not have that power, they should just tell it straight to my face. I hate backstabbers too.

14. What do you think is the most important in your life?
Having what I want in life is what is most important.

15. Are you a shopaholic or not?
I window-shop most of the time but if I find something that I really like, I will buy it without hesitating. No, I don't think I am a shopaholic.

16. What is the thing that you really want now?
I have almost everything that I want now.

17. Why does it hurt when you punch someone?
Because that someone is human. Unless if I punch a ghost, it probably won't feel anything, will it?

18. Is there anything that you have done which you regret?
There are some things. But it's too painful to be mentioned here.

19. Are you hungry right now?
Not really. Just craving for some chocolates right now. =D

20. Do you think that this survey is totally useless?
It is. No one will bother to read anyway and if there are some people who are still reading up to here, then it is not so useless, I guess.

8 people I'm gonna tag :

I know most of the people I tag will not attempt to waste their precious moments with this survey, but I will list them anyway.

1. Sarah
2. Pui Yun
3. Yi Rong
4. Joanna
5. Norazizi
6. Eunice
7. Sapphire Blu
8. Wei Li

Got to go watch Switched right now. Two more episodes to go! I missed last week's AF concert so will probably watch the videos too.

congkak..

Horror movies are gaining popularity these days. I think people enjoy watching films from this genre because seeing ghosts is something they do not do very often. I love these horror flicks too. Especially Japanese-made horror movies. When you watch Japanese horror movies, remember this tip. Do not bother to understand the storyline and just enjoy the scare. Then only will you enjoy the show. Otherwise, you will end up being very confused if you try so hard to decipher the plot.

There's one Malaysian-made horror movie entitled Congkak. The trailer seems good.

Go watch it if you have the money and time and tell me what you think about this movie. I recommend it based on the trailer. So, if it isn't good, please do not claim your money from me. :-P

penang, here i come again!!

I must appreciate this month/time/moment/day that I have now because it's a period which does not come often. It's the idle period. I don't have to study nor work. Basically these are what I do not have to do for the past five months or so. In addition to that, I get to go to Penang this weekend to idle more at beach, clad in bikini.

Okay, I am joking about the bikini part.

I am pretty excited as this will be one of the times we go to beaches. Usually, we would just go rot in the room or did some window-shopping in Queensbay or Gurney Plaza.

I just hope I won't drown myself.

It's too bad Crystle cannot tag along. She would have so much fun swimming in the salty water.

happy birthday, see mun!!

Someone's leaving behind her teenage years once and for all! Welcome to the two-zero club, girl!

She's a good friend of mine, one of the ones who loves the entertainment world as much as I do (well, more than I do would be more accurate).

So here I want to wish you a very Happy 20th Birthday!

See Mun, thank you for all the wonderful years of friendship and I hope you will not forget me, yeah? If you do, no more birthday wishes for you in the near future. LOL!!

Okay, I am just kidding. You cannot possibly forget a crazy friend like me, can you?

I've searched high and low, far and wide, and I noticed that this is the only picture of you that I have. Snapped way back during graduation in 2005, the picture looked a bit old but you still look the same today.

Let me present you, See Mun the birthday girl.

Don't bother about the girl on the right. She is not important. Look at the left one. She is the main point of this entry.

A note to See Mun:
Well, I hope you are reading this. I am such a good friend, right? =D

Happy Birthday once again. Have a great one! Cheers.

P/S: Sorry, couldn't buy you a cake. Will a muffin and a lighted match on top do?

the golden rule..

My joke on first April was quite lame and it was surprising that everyone fell for it. It's not so lame after all, is it? Sarah said I have not been updating like 'useless' duyun (quoted from Sarah). Duyun, if you are reading this, I didn't say you 'useless', okay? I am merely quoting. Hahaha...

I've recently acquired a book entitled, 'Mama's Rules for Livin'' written by Mamie McCullough and those 151 rules are really good. Some are funny while others are very inspirational and have definitely given me motivation to do the things that I want.

One rule which is also my favourite is:

Pain is inevitable - misery is a choice. Forgive.

People experience pain and often turn it into misery. Wouldn't that make pain more painful than it is? Misery is something that you choose to invite into your life. When someone has hurt you in any way at all like breaking your heart, the pain that you feel is inevitable and you might cry soon after. However, when you prolong the pain, it becomes misery which is something more painful than the pain you had already experienced.

The best way to prevent misery in life would be to forgive the person who has hurt you. It might not be an easy task, but it is definitely the best solution to make yourself feel so much better. Hatred will only cause more pain. Thus, misery will come when that hatred becomes more intense.

Love is such a good feeling because it is something humans grow with. To be able to forgive, you need to love. So, learn to love and not to hate, my friends.

And I am still learning too.

i am leaving for good..

After a long deliberation, I have finally decided. I am terminating this blog for good. I will give my username and password to anyone who wishes to write here. I will be very grateful if there is anyone who is willing to keep this site alive.

Some of you might be thinking, "What on earth makes me make such a sudden decision? What makes this entry pop up?"

Well, it is really simple. I know I have been missing for eight days and Duyun is missing me so, so much so here I am to tell everyone that I QUIT.

I am so uninspired therefore the best option will be shutting this place down while waiting for a new owner to come by.

ARE YOU INTERESTED?

Just call/sms/e-mail me for further information if you think you are committed enough to 'adopt' this blog.

If you have read up to this line, I suppose you still want to know whether this is for real or it is just an April Fool's joke. This is NOT a joke, I tell you. I cannot be more serious.

One final line before I terminate myself to be the owner of this blog.

The content above is entirely the imagination of all readers. Have a good first April! =D

of good friday and easter..

Update: My college life will commence on the 12th May! Another month or so to enjoy. Yay!

It was Good Friday yesterday and I loved the performances and the message. During the start of the service, everyone was given a red ribbon with some words printed on the strip. It said, 'My sins - His forgiveness'. I felt so touched. He loves me the way none others could. I tucked the ribbon safely in my IC and licence card holder before the pastor told us that we were supposed to use it later to respond.

I thought I could keep it. When the pastor explained that we were to nail the ribbon strip onto a cross, I knew this was something that I could do to tell Jesus that I am grateful for what He had done for me to cleanse me from my sins.

Tomorrow will be Easter. It's not the day when bunnies and Easter eggs are the heroes but Jesus is. So remember, Easter is to remind us about the victory of Jesus over death and not these commercialised goods just like Santa during Christmas. It's all about Jesus.

still alive..lalala..

I fell in love with this song hearing it for the first time. It does not make sense as it has crappy lyrics but the tune is so cute. I know 'cute' usually refers to something we see but I have no other words to describe this song. It is just so CUTE.

Believe me, I think you will love it too!

The funny lyrics for those who fell in love with this song as I did to sing along.

This Was A Triumph
I'm Making A Note Here:
HUGE SUCCESS
It's hard to overstate
my satisfaction.
Aperture Science
We do what we must
because we can.
For the good of all of us.
Except the ones who are dead.

But there's no sense crying
over every mistake.
You just keep on trying
till you run out of cake.
And the Science gets done.
And you make a neat gun.
For the people who are
Still Alive

I'm not even angry.
I'm being so sincere right now.
Even though you broke my heart.
And killed me.
And tore me to pieces.
And threw every piece into a fire.
As they burned it hurt because
I was so happy for you!
Now these points of data
make a beautiful line.
And we're out of beta.
We're releasing on time.
So I'm GLAD. I got burned.
Think of all the things we learned
for the people who are
still alive.

Go ahead and leave me.
I think I prefer to stay inside.
Maybe you'll find someone else
to help you.
Maybe Black Mesa. . .
THAT WAS A JOKE. HAHA FAT CHANCE.
Anyway. this cake is great.
It's so delicious and moist.
Look at me still talking
When There's Science to do.
When I look out there,
it makes me GLAD I'm not you.
I've experiments to run.
There is research to be done.
On the people who are
still alive.

And believe me I am still alive.

I'm doing Science and I'm still alive.

I feel FANTASTIC and I'm still alive.

While you're dying I'll be still alive.

And when you're dead I will be still alive.

STILL ALIVE

STILL ALIVE

I just got crazy singing this senseless song. Actually 'Still Alive' is the credit song for a video game called Portal.

(Especially the part of the lyrics describing about a cake which is delicious and moist! That cracks me up the most! LOL!)

I want to play this game. It looks so weird and funny yet interesting. =D

make a choice, everyone??

As people grow older, things get more interesting yet confusing. I missed my childhood because life was so much simpler and less complicated.

When I was young, maybe four or five years old, it was easy to make choices of whether you want to play or sleep. Either choice I make would be harmless. If I chose to sleep, my mom would be happy because I would not be making so much noise. If I chose to play, I did not need to worry about neglecting my studies because there were no 'books' being introduced to little people during that era which was the early 90's. However, the scenario is so much different today. A child is introduced to books as early as two years old! No wonder the world today is such a tough place to live in.

I remembered my first year in kindergarten when I was six. I knew I was afraid of the new things that I had to learn. I suddenly realised that life was not revolved around my family and home. There is a place called SCHOOL where everyone needs to go. That time, I hated school. I tried to learn, but sometimes people could be a tad selfish. The people there made me hated school more. In fact, I chose to hate school.

(Of course that hatred never lasted long.)

Now I noticed that it was such a trivial thing to experience meeting selfish people who were not willing to share back then.

Fast forward to my secondary years, I grew to love books more and more and in that course of journey, again, I need to make choices.

What should I do when I grow up?

Should I go for a movie when there is an exam tomorrow?

Should I tell her that it's not the right thing to do?

And a lot more other questions which forced me to make a decision.

I think I should. Maybe I should not.

In the end, I did make the right choice. However, it did not always go the way I wanted.

Today, the choices that I make cannot be taken lightly. I know if I do make the the wrong choice, it is most unlikely that I will be able to turn back. If you made a mistake in your decision when you were six, you always have your parents to patch things up for you. But when you are twenty, it's time for you to clean up the mess that you made. You are responsible for your own act.

Sounds horrifying? The truth is not always as sweet as candy. Quoted from a friend, "Make not the right decision but make the decision right."

And that is what I am going to do right now.

P/S: Thank you so much for your opinion, uncle. But I want to pursue my dream. I will not mess it up as you think I would.

the beginning of my life after this..

There is nothing for me to wait for since the result is out. It's not the time to continue my 'mushroom project' any longer because I don't need it. All I need to do now is to fill up forms and start photo-copying some documents for scholarship application purposes.

My very first semester in college will start next month. A place where I need to wear a uniform. I love uniform. I feel smart wearing it even if I do not have a single idea of what is in store for me.

I guess I will post a lot about my college life next month. Don't get bored reading them okay? I will try to make them look interesting.

Tuesday, March 11, 2008

:o)

I have so much on my mind yet I can only say this:

Praise the Lord for everything He has given me.

Too happy to blog about anything right now. =P

Monday, March 10, 2008

the twelve hours before..

Twelve more hours to go and I do not know what I am expecting. I do not expect anything because I do not know what I expect to see on the result slip. Okay, this does not seem to make sense. My senses have been knocked out of me by some unknown force which I desperately try to pull myself away from.

To all my friends who are having marathon hearts right now, just believe in yourself and do not PANIC! Everything will be over after noon tomorrow. Over. Period.

a whole new world..

This is so amazing. How can someone sing a duet all by himself?

an evening in the park..

So many evening walks, so many days, yet, it was only yesterday that I thought about snapping a photo of us taking the weirdoG out in the park.

Crystle enjoyed herself. So did we.

Cheese!

Crys is always not paying attention to the camera. She got tired of the annoying lens after so many forced-photos taken earlier. LOL!

Eunice pulled her ears, gently whispered to her, 'You better listen well and be a good girl or else, you won't be able to listen anymore. Hahaha...!!'

Crystle then forced a smile because she wants to listen to more music and don't want to lose her ears. =D

Another shot:

Smile or say goodbye to your throat!

Again, she's forced to be happy in the photo.

P/S: I didn't kill Crystle. She is still alive and looking forward to the next evening walk. I hope I won't be meeting perverted male dogs which will attempt to rape her. The last time it happened, I had to run for her life!
