Christmas Diary

This post came up a week late because, well, you already know the reason. Procrastination has been my good friend and it is very difficult to get away from it.

On the 14th December, Eunice came to Penang for a short trip and we watched Happy Feet 2 in 3D! Her trip was a very adventurous one and you can read all about it here.

Us with the poster after the movie. It was worth watching because one, the ticket price was cheap and second, the graphics were great.

Then we went for Japanese food at the basement called the Sushi Bar.

Our bento set. Unagi bento and garlic chicken bento.

As I had to work that night, we had to leave and no time to window shop further. Let's skip to Day 2.

I came back from work and slept for about 2 hours then off we went for breakfast (maggi goreng) at Khaleel. Our first itinerary of the day was to Air Itam for some batik shorts shopping then to Prangin for more shopping.

Of course, when we have walked too long, the thirst attacked us.

This was where we had our drinks, a place called Oasis. Red Volcano and Mango Tango.

Remember the previous night we could not do shopping at Gurney Plaza? We went back there and did more shopping there.

Dinner at Bar.B.Q. Plaza. This has become my favourite dining place.

Grill, grill, grill...

Our matching shoes for the day.

A matching bean bag! Anyone wants to get this for me for Christmas?

The RSR family at back office.

Another shot.

Thanks for the enjoyable time. The food were great too. Curry puffs overload!

The tiny Christmas tree flooded with presents.

When I got home three days ago, I saw that the condo has got the festive mood up too.

Skinny Christmas tree

With a flattened Santa on the glass.

It feels great to be home for Christmas although we didn't go out much except for church and a gathering at a friend's place. I still enjoyed it very much.

My other family for eight hours daily.

I have never shared my workplace as well as my colleagues here ever since I started working. Today is your lucky day as I am revealing how my workplace looks like and some of my pretty colleagues!

First and foremost, I need to give Miss Mastura the credit for the beautifully snapped photographs using her new Xperia phone.

(Don't ask me what series, I am really dumb when it comes to phones.)

Clockwise from left: Radha, Rajesh, me and Hema

Another closer shot. Hema loves this shot.

Mas and me.

(Please pretend not to see the rubbish behind us. It's not usually like that.)

Hema and Mas.

On another note, the petrol station near my place is open! I don't have to go down the winding road for petrol anymore! Whee!!!!

Breaking Dawn Part 1

Lunch of the day!

It's roasted chicken with ramen!

There's a mushroom hidden beneath the chicken which tasted absolutely delicious!

By the way, I am typing via the 'Edit Html' and not the 'Compose' mode because I didn't want to to look at the picture which is making me hungry all over again.

The initial plan was to go on a movie marathon today but I ended up watching only a movie as the bus was late. So I chose Breaking Dawn over Petaling Street Warriors. The second part of Breaking Dawn will definitely be more interesting.

That's the end of my off day. Another day of work tomorrow. Thank you God for a great day spent. :)

Shaved Ice

Another month to Christmas! This entry, however, is irrelevant to Christmas. :P

A couple of pictures for you to whet your appetite. Not pictures of solid food but something even better.

What is better than something as cool and refreshing as these on a warm day?

Ice kacang from Woolley for her.

Lemon with shaved ice for me.

Time speeds when I am lazing at home. Back to work again tomorrow. :)

Macarons with ♥ Part 2

The football match is over and everyone is asking for a public holiday. I don't mind if there is one but I don't think there will be one since it's just another gold for SEA Games.

So I am back home for six days and I enjoy lazing around at home without having to hear the phone ringing. I shall treasure this moment of relaxation and solitude before I get back to work soon.

Got myself a half dozen + 1 macarons from Miss Nurainie! This time, the flavours are all different. Do check out this page for the flavours this month!

Are you drooling already? Eunice loves it!

Glad you love it, sis! Next time, it's your turn to give me a treat. :)

Nearly hospitalized

This week has been passing by extremely slow. So this is what sickness does to time. To slow down time so that you will feel tortured longer. Tortured enough for you to finally defeat and seek help from the doctor.

I am very terrified of being sick. Extremely. It's because when I start falling sick, it will last for days or even weeks. For this time round, I thank God for His quick healing Hands and I am recovered within a week.

The high fever should be gone two nights ago but I suddenly fainted minutes before my shift started and that triggered a brand new episode of me going to the hospital in the wee hours in the morning doing several tests and scans (they even scanned my brain!!) to ensure that I was really well enough to go home. I was even wheeled around the emergency hall, something I really hate because I it made me feel even more helpless. The results that came out were, well, suffice to say, I was generally healthy except for a mild infection in my blood stream which could have been due the fever I had. The MO was not convinced and said a person did not fall into unconsciousness for no reason so she referred me to a cardiologist the next day.

Okay, this got me worried. Why refer me to a heart specialist??

I had a restless night thinking about there might be something wrong with my heart. Then I woke up with a headache and went to the hospital once again in apprehension. And the result that came out from the echo was all right.

There is nothing wrong with my heart (except for a slight trembling of the valves but the doctor said it should not be a problem).

So tomorrow I am going back to work. You cannot understand how glad I am to be back like a normal person. :)

It's Friday!!!!!!!!!!! My first post in November!!!!!

Deepavali just ended and Rajesh gave me a container of cookies!

I have finished more than half of them.

I have the appetite for sweet desserts these days. For instance, I had this yesterday.

Some strawberry tarts. So delicious that I finished all three. Yum yum.

I was so excited today because I met Wei Li today! We had lunch together and even got ourselves Chatime!

My bento - Unagi Don (RM16.90). I spoil myself once a week. Hehehe!!! Wei Li and I ordered the same bento! The best of the lot, I should say.

My first time trying Chatime! It was delicious. The best I have tasted though it's RM5.90 a cup.

After that, I went to watch In Time alone as Wei Li has to attend a class at 3pm.

The movie was really interesting. Imagine if you were to live in a zone where everything must be purchased with time. At the same time, your lifetime is doing a countdown. How can you sleep then? Sleeping would mean you would lose 8 hours which could have helped you to get some groceries done. If someone tries to rob you, he would not say, "Money or Life?" because money IS life.

That's just a little something about the movie. Just go watch it! You will not regret it.

Deepavali celebration

I celebrated Deepavali at Rajesh's house three days ago.

The view from her apartment.

First I was served cookies as appetizers before going to the main course.

Four dishes with steaming hot white rice.

Are you hungry already? My night shift just ended. Now back to normal sleeping pattern. :)

♥ Macarons ♥

I update today because I have a couple of pictures to share! Thanks, Miss Nurainie for the mackies!

Do not laugh but this is the first time I have eaten one. I love the texture and the sweetness of it. Yum yum.

9 pieces altogether in the lovely box. Every colour has a different flavour!!! I have all the colours!

Refer here for the flavours. I really love this page a lot. When I look at the colours, my mood becomes better.

Tomorrow my night shift starts!!! I will not sleep tonight.

Erm.

I mean I will TRY NOT TO SLEEP TONIGHT!

An off day without movie marathon

The week passed by so quickly that it was another off day for me again. Remember the previous off day I went movie marathon? Oh well, I didn't go for a movie marathon yesterday because I was bankrupt. Erm, more to save money for a better cause actually. :)

So I had a mission to go to Prangin to make a purchase of a new drama in the market. The initial plan was to eat chicken rice near my place but the stall was not opened. So I went straight to the mall and had my lunch there.

The char koay teow stall at Prangin Food Court also sells chicken chop rice at RM4.50 with a free fried ice-cream. He guaranteed the chicken chop rice to be delicious but I was really surprised. Not in a good way.

I think it is a bit of a rip-off because there is nothing else but chicken and rice. I thought chicken chop rice should at least have some cucumber slices at the side. But the fried ice-cream is good so no further complaints.

For dinner, I bought a dumpling from the food court and the lady asked whether I wanted to open it or not? I thought, "Sure, why not? It will definitely be easier for me to eat if I do not have to open it myself."

This is how it was packed. First time seeing someone takes a dumpling home like this? Hehehe!

Not only she helped me opened the wrapping of the dumpling, she also cut it for me and 'seasoned' it with chili sauce. Yum yum! I have never eaten dumpling in such a pampered way.

So what was the drama that I bought? You see, I plan to only buy one set of drama but I ended up buying two. Drama addicts like me are too lazy to go for another round of bus trip to purchase another drama.

The Other Truth and Man with No Shadow.

I am currently looking forward to next month. We are going to have family reunion again. You will appreciate your family more if you are working outstation and reunion like this does not come frequent. :)

On a special note:

Happy birthday, Uncle Ho!!!!! Have a blessed birthday this year. :)

Dream House and The Cat marathon!

Today is my off day and I had an interesting outing with me and myself. With Elaine too in the evening. :)

Went for a movie marathon again today and I watched The Cat: Two Eyes That See Death and also Dream House.

This movie has the usual Korean scares and worth watching. A little bit like Dark Water at the end of the movie but... I shall let you watch it yourself. :)

The plot reminds me of Shutter Island but more interesting. There is nothing scary about the movie but the ending is unexpected. Go watch it!

As there was a break of an hour or so between the movies, I went food-hunting and saw this paratha roll kiosk so I was thinking, why not?

BBQ chicken in paratha with home-made soya bean at RM4.90. Quite a reasonable price eh? It'd delicious.

Oh, and I went to the computer shop and played around with Ipad 2. If I had the money, I would get one. No wonder so many people wanted it. It's light and easy to be carried around.

Later in the evening, I had Indian food with Elaine at Sri Ananda (opposite Sandy Bay Paradise Hotel)

These are what we ordered:

My three-layered tea. Diabetic induced. People, don't drink this often. It's bad for your health. Hahaha!!!

Briyani rice, mutton vindaloo, kadai chicken and masala naan (not in the picture)

Total cost of the dinner: RM32

After dinner, we were both very full. Next time, I shall ask my family to come here for a meal. The pricing is really affordable. Not a place for everyday dining, but it's an ideal place for a good meal once in a while. :)

Tomorrow is someone special's birthday again. Happy birthday in advance! And may you get well soon!

First Sunday of October in Penang

Happy Sunday to all of you! Went to church this morning and the topic was on faith. One quote that I like in the sermon was

"A person can live 40 days without food, 4 days without water and 4 minutes without air but not 4 seconds without HOPE."

Isn't that inspiring? As mere human beings, we need hope to be happy and lead a worry-free life. And what might that hope be? Of course, the answer is Jesus! Count upon him in everything you do because no one can provide the hope and love greater than His.

I feel refreshed after the sermon and I realise many times, I try to be independent and solve my own problems but that is not the way God created us to be. We are made to depend on Him, in good times or bad.

Oh yea, I met a new friend today. Before the service started, there was this pretty lass who took the initiative to sit next to me. It was too bad I did not have much chance to talk to her and all I know about her was her name was Eveleen and her right shoe was broken today. Sweet girl. Hope I can see her again the next time I go for service.

I am getting so lazy to blog nowadays. Currently watching a drama entitled Lives of Ommision - a series that depict the story of undercovers.

A note to mom: Hope you get well soon. Take more rest and move less for the time being till the wound is healed. May God's healing hands continue to be upon you. :)

No Monday blues!

Another two days of working and I will be back to Ipoh for a 6-day holiday.

Another two days of working and I will be getting my salary.

Now that's something happier to share about.

This morning, Elaine and I went for breakfast at the famous nasi lemak stall opposite Rasa Sayang. Now I understand why it's famous. I've been wanting to try for a long time but because I am staying 20-minute of walking distance away, I never got the chance to. Thanks Elaine for fetching me! :)

And we ordered teh tarik as the accompaniment to the nasi lemak that we had. Bravo to mom for she guessed correctly what I had. How is that you are able to guess it's teh tarik before I tell you? You really have bionic eyes nose and eyes to see and smell what I am up to. Hehehehe!!!

Oh and the only picture I have with Joan.

At Pastamania, the empty restaurant!

I think today will be a good day although my alarm clock died on me this morning. Just changed the batteries and it is working fine again. :)

Have a great Monday, everyone!

Joan

It's my first time going out with Joan today and although it was a short outing of food and shopping, we enjoyed ourselves much.

We first had our breakfast at McD and we were the last to order breakfast for the day. The clock struck 11am when we went to our table with our tray of food. We halved the food as we were planning to have lunch at Gurney Plaza.

Joan very happy to be photographed with the breakfast tea.

We strolled around in the mall for quite a bit, going high and low the complex searching for some outlets that sold reasonable priced clothes. I was really tempted to shop but I resisted.

To think of a place to have lunch could be a headache. We could not find anything that we felt like eating at that moment at the lower ground so we went higher and higher till we reached Pastamania.

The 7-inch pizza that we halved. We shared almost everything. :)

She let me try her baked rice with ham and sausage and I let her try my potato waffles.

I was feeling a little full so I didn't order my all-time favourite lasagna.

The potato waffles at RM4.90.

This intrigued me. They actually counted how many they served!

I wonder if the figures can be counted on.

After that, we strolled for a bit and rushed off to the bus-stop to wait for the bus to fetch us to the resort.

I will miss you and your gang, Joan. :) Let's meet up again when you are in Penang or when I go to Johor!

Kim Gary, Gurney Plaza

Had dinner with Elaine at Kim Gary, Gurney Plaza last night. The food choice was quite good and I settled for noodles!

And I ordered my very first boiled Coke with ginger.

Very soothing sort of drink. I love it.

My pick! Korean Spicy Noodles with Chicken Chop! RM15.50.

Comes with kimchi too!

I definitely indulged too much. That's why I am only going to watch two movies on Monday with no popcorns! Hahaha!

I just woke up

Yes, I just woke up from my 8-hour sleep of the day. Time to cook up a blog post so you don't have to keep staring at the lazy post below. :)

Three days ago, I was in Ipoh for the Mid-Autumn Festival and I had lots of fun. I saw a dog which looked like Shaggy but it is a cross-breed between a Husky and a Poodle. He was the pet of my sis' friend, Hui Qi.

See how cute it was!

So sorry for the picture quality. I have a bad camera phone. :P

A slightly clearer shot of the cute dog.

The following day, I went for breakfast with Eunice and I ordered the most predictable American Breakfast; something that I usually have when I was still in Ipoh. It was still as delicious. I know. How could sausages and egg taste any different? They were instant food after all!

I finally got to drive my new car and I am still in the process of getting the parking right. In due time, I will be an expert!

Oh yes, I need to feature the two darlings. They are getting stronger and bigger as days go by.

Meet the Elles!

There was sort of a warehouse sale at Ipoh Parade and I managed to get a good haul for my new bed.

The whole set (comforter + bedsheet) with 330 thread count at RM89 only! The original price was at RM499! It's such a good bargain. :)

Dad took us to Sushi King for dinner on the 13th September and we ate some sushi and it amounted to RM40 something. I don't remember the exact figure but it was within the RM50 range. Next round, we must go to Sakae Sushi. Heh!

First day of night shift is over. Second night will be here in less than 7 hours! I am a vampire again for 5 nights minus the blood-sucking ritual.

I want to play the Sims 2! What a sudden craving for Sims. I don't know why.

Excuse me for being lazy.

I admit, I have been lazy in updating my blog but I am not going to give excuses of why I am lazy. There is no excuse. I just feel lazy to type.

Okay, now that is an excuse.

I realise that as I got older, I am getting more and more speechless and less and less outspoken in terms of expressing myself online. I only have one sentence to say for this post.

I AM GOING BACK HOME FOR MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL!

Till another meaningless entry.

Bye!

Today is a Smurfy day!

I am back home and the The Smurfs is a very hilarious movie. I don't mind watching it for the second time.

From left: Clumsy Smurf, Grouchy Smurf, Papa Smurf, Smurfette (my favourite character), Gutsy Smurf and Brainy Smurf

Oh, an alternate trailer of The Smurfs

The Smurfs trailer 2 by FilmBoy-gr

The story begins in The Smurf Village where the Smurfs were all preparing for the Blue Moon Festival. On an unfortunate (or rather fortunate) twist of events, Clumsy led another five of his family into the human world via a vortex that is magically opened during the rise of the Blue Moon. And the hilarious adventure begin with Gargamel, the evil sorcerer closes in, hunting them to obtain their Smurf essence.

I was thankful that I managed to get the last eye-level ticket. Indeed, God is a wonderful. I can never thank enough.

After the movie, I saw this cute Pig Pig G phone strap and decided to get it for someone special. :)

Isn't it cute? I think it looks like the plushie in the series but mom said otherwise. Anyway, hope you really like it.

Will be working in afternoon shift for the next four days. Hope I can wake up early tomorrow. I tend to wake up late when I work in the afternoon.
